Iron oxide pigment is a type of pigment with good dispersibility, excellent light resistance, and weather resistance. Iron oxide pigments mainly refer to four types of coloring pigments, namely iron oxide red, iron yellow, iron black, and iron brown, based on iron oxides. Among them, iron oxide red is the main pigment (accounting for about 50% of iron oxide pigments), and mica iron oxide used as anti rust pigments and magnetic iron oxide used as magnetic recording materials also belong to the category of iron oxide pigments. Iron oxide is the second largest inorganic pigment after titanium dioxide and also the largest colored inorganic pigment. More than 70% of all consumed iron oxide pigments are prepared by chemical synthesis methods, known as synthetic iron oxide. Synthetic iron oxide is widely used in fields such as building materials, coatings, plastics, electronics, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, rubber, ceramics, inks, magnetic materials, papermaking, etc. due to its high synthesis purity, uniform particle size, wide chromatography, multiple colors, low cost, non-toxic properties, excellent coloring and application performance, and UV absorption performance.

The use of iron oxide pigments for coloring concrete products is becoming increasingly common, and the application of iron oxide red in concrete products should pay attention to the following indicators. 1. Choose a good color. There are many grades of iron oxide red, and the colors range from light to deep. First, choose the color you are satisfied with. 2. Adding pigments to concrete products can have an impact on the strength of concrete. The more added, the more it will affect the strength of the concrete. So the principle is to minimize the amount of pigment added as much as possible. The better the coloring power of the pigment, the less it is added. So the higher the requirement for the coloring power of pigments, the better. 3. Iron oxide red is formed by oxidation of iron scales in acidic media. If low-quality pigments are slightly acidic, acidic pigments will react with alkaline cement to a certain extent, so the lower the acidity of iron oxide red, the better.

The formula of iron oxide pigment is a special requirement for modern coatings and thermoplastic industries.

This product is suitable for conventional solvent based systems and water-based coatings. Low oil absorption is achieved through a special grinding process, which produces narrow particle size distribution and almost spherical (polygonal) particles. Low oil absorption is an important measure for manufacturing high solid coatings and high solid content dyeing systems and inks for volatile organic compounds. It is recommended to have extremely low water-soluble salt content, as iron oxide pigments have high durability and good weather resistance.

The depolymerized red iron oxide pigment is formed by heat treatment and therefore represents a thermally stable calcined red iron oxide.
Pigments have significant advantages compared to conventional synthetic materials.
