Tourmaline is the general name of tourmaline group minerals. Its chemical composition is relatively complex. The spontaneous polarization effect of tourmaline is permanent, which is closely related to its structure and composition.

Tourmaline has piezoelectricity effect and thermoelectricity effect at the same time. When the surrounding environment changes, the temperature or pressure changes, the crystal bond in the tourmaline lattice is twisted, and the electron is transferred, so that one end of tourmaline is positively charged and the other end is negatively charged. The opposite electrode is defined as C + and C -. C + is the positive pole compressed along the c-axis during cooling or pressurization, and C – is the negative pole expanded along the c-axis during heating or decompression.
