Floating bead is a kind of fly ash hollow ball that can float on the water surface. It is gray white, thin and hollow in wall, very light in weight, with unit weight of 720kg/m3 (heavy) and 418.8kg/m3 (light), particle size of about 0.1mm, closed and smooth in surface, small in thermal conductivity, and fire resistance ≥ 1610 ℃. It is an excellent temperature retaining refractory, widely used in the production of light castables and oil drilling. The chemical composition of the floating bead is mainly silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide. It has many characteristics, such as fine particles, hollow, light weight, high strength, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, thermal insulation, insulation and flame retardancy. It is one of the raw materials widely used in the fire resistance industry.

Introduction

Excellent performance and application of floating beads

High fire resistance. The main chemical components of the floating bead are silicon and aluminum oxides, of which silicon dioxide is about 48-66% and aluminum oxide is about 26-36%. Because the melting point of silicon dioxide is 1720 ℃ and that of aluminum oxide is 2060 ℃, both of them are high refractories. Therefore, the floating bead has a very high fire resistance, which generally reaches 1620-1800 ℃, making it an excellent high-performance refractory. Light weight, thermal insulation. The wall of the floating bead is thin and hollow, and the cavity is semi vacuum. There is only a very small amount of gas (N2, H2, CO2, etc.), and the heat conduction is extremely slow. Therefore, the floating beads are not only light in weight (250-450 kg/m3). The natural particle size of floating beads is 1-250 microns. Drift beads can be used directly without grinding. The fineness can meet the needs of various products. Other lightweight thermal insulation materials are generally of large particle size (such as perlite). If they are grinded, the capacity will be greatly increased, and the thermal insulation will be greatly reduced. In this respect, Drifting beads have advantages. Excellent electrical insulation. The floating bead after the magnetic bead is selected is an insulating material with excellent performance and does not conduct electricity. Generally, the resistance of insulators decreases with the increase of temperature, while that of floating beads increases with the increase of temperature. This advantage is not possessed by other insulating materials. Therefore, it can be used to make insulating products under high temperature conditions.
