Kaolin clay is a kind of non-metallic mineral. It is a kind of clay and clay rock mainly composed of kaolinite group clay minerals. The crystal formula of kaolinite is 2SiO2 • Al2O3 • 2H2O, and its theoretical chemical composition is 46.54% SiO2, 39.5% Al2O3 and 13.96% H2O. Kaolin minerals belong to 1:1 type layered silicates, the crystal is mainly composed of silicon oxygen tetrahedron and sodium hydroxide octahedron, in which silicon oxygen tetrahedron is connected in two-dimensional direction to form a hexagonal grid layer in the form of a common vertex angle, and the non-public peak oxygen of each silicon oxygen tetrahedron faces one side; the common peak oxygen of silicon oxygen tetrahedron layer is composed of silicon oxygen tetrahedron layer and oxygen recruitment octahedron layer It is composed of 1:1 unit layer.
Kaolin clay is white, fine and soft, with good plasticity, fire resistance and other physical and chemical properties. Its mineral composition is mainly composed of kaolinite, halloysite, hydromica, illite, montmorillonite, quartz, feldspar and other minerals.
Properties
