Activated clay is an adsorbent made of clay (mainly bentonite) as raw material, which is treated by inorganic acidification, then rinsed and dried by water. It is milk white powder in appearance, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, with strong adsorption performance, and can absorb colored and organic substances. It is easy to absorb moisture in the air. If it is placed too long, its adsorption performance will be reduced. However, when heated above 300 ℃, crystal water will be lost, which will change the structure and affect the fading effect. Active clay is insoluble in water, organic solvents and various oils, almost completely soluble in caustic soda and hydrochloric acid, with a relative density of 2.3-2.5, and little bentonite in water and oil.
Activated clay property
1. It has the advantages of strong adsorption, high decolorization rate, low oil carrying rate, fast filtration speed and less addition;
2. It can effectively remove the total phospholipid, soap and trace metal ions of oil and can be used as a natural antioxidant;
3. It can remove aflatoxin, pesticide residue and other toxins and peculiar smell substances in oil;
4. After decolorization, the acid value of the oil does not rise, does not return to color, is clear and transparent, and has stable quality and long shelf life.
5. It is especially suitable for the refining and production of mineral oil, vegetable oil and animal oil.
Characteristic of activated clay
1. The bleaching soil is made of high-quality pure natural non-metallic mineral attapulgite clay as the main raw material, supplemented by scientific formula and refined by special processing technology. It appears as gray white or light yellow powder, which is an ideal alternative to activated carbon.
